Significant decline in EU-Iran trade
The total volume of trade between the EU and Iran from January to April 2019 fell by 76 percent year-on-year to 1616 million euros.
Eurostat published trade statistics between the EU and Iran. According to the data, European exports to Iran declined by half to €1,356 million compared to the last four months of last year. And they are down 56 percent year-on-year.
Thus, the 28 European countries imported 259 million euros from Iran in the first four months of 2019. Imports from Iran fell by 93 percent compared to the same period last year and by 81 percent compared to the last four months of 2018.
The total volume of trade between the EU Member States and Iran over the aforementioned period amounts to €1,616 million, representing a 76 percent year-on-year decline and a 60 percent fall compared to the last four months of 2018.
