Members Directory

Here we describe what the Members Directory is and how to use it. Read through it here:

A Members directory is a page that displays a list of all companies that are members of certain AHK office network. For companies that are part of the network or new potential member companies this is a place where business connections and partnerships can be easily made.

When users find a company through the Members Directory list or Search, it can open a Members Details page, where all relevant information about that company are shown. This includes contact information, location, website, company logo and informational text.

This allows user to get in contact with particular company for potential partnerships.

Members Directory is made from 2 pages:

  • Members Directory landing page - list of all members
  • Member Details page - detailed information and description of the selected member

More details about this Members Details page and how to create it, is explained in the Members Details Page Section.

Users can search for members by company name through the Search bar,  but they can also filter and sort their search results with the help of the Sorting and filtering bar.

Filter/Search Form:

In the frontend we have the search form and below that, the full list of members. To activate filters, select/enter your desired filters, either press enter when using the search field, click the search icon in the same field, or click on the browse button. The filters available are:

  • Search: Here you can enter a search-term. The search term will be checked against member names returning those containing it as results
  • Industry: Select an industry available from the list
  • Country: Select a country available from the list
  • State/Province: Select a State/Province available from the list
  • City: Select a City available from the list
  • Members4Members: Check the box to show members participating in the members4members program only.

The filters for Industry, Country, State/Province, City are generated from the currently available members and show the total amount of members available per filter.

This work in such a way that only results are shown which match all filters selected, be sure to only select filters which you actually need to find the members you are looking for.

Also available in the filter bar is the 'Sort by' field. Here you can select several options:

  • Member Name A-Z - this sorts the members alphabetically by member name from a-z. This option is selected by default.
  • Member Name Z-A - this sorts the members alphabetically by member name from z-a.
  • Country name A-Z - this sorts the members alphabetically by country name from a-z.
  • Country name Z-A - this sorts the members alphabetically by country name from z-a.
  • State/Province name A-Z - this sorts the members alphabetically by state/province name from a-z.
  • State/Province name Z-A - this sorts the members alphabetically by state/province name from z-a.

Because the Members Directory is already pre-created for you, you normally do not need to add it again to your content tree. But in case you need to do it, please proceed like this:

Steps in the CMS

Members_Directory_Screen_1 Members_Directory_Screen_2 Members_Directory_Screen_3 Members_Directory_Screen_4 Members_Directory_Screen_5

A new Members Directory will be created under

Content -> Content structure -> Your Country -> Click on your Landing page ->  Select Members folder -> Create/Create Content -> Choose Members Directory

To create a new Members Directory, click on the Content tree, navigate to your landing page and to the folder "Members". Click on create and select the content type "Members Directory".

In the now opened editing view you will see a pre-filled title, which you can change if you so desire. This is a required field. Next you can add a description, we have provided an example, which can be used but if you have your own description in mind, go ahead! This field is not required.

After adding the description you will find three toggle buttons, which when triggered will either hide or show a filter in the storefront view of the members directory. When hidden, the filter and matching column will be unavailable for the end-user.

Now you can add a program name. This will be pre-filled with 'Members4Members program', if you have a different program name for your location, please remove this and add your desired name.
Additionally we have the program description, this will be displayed on the member details pages of participating members.

Finally we have the Program URL, the field on the left is where you enter the URL the user shall be redirected to, the field on the right - as the description points out shall be left empty. If you do fill this field it will have no impact, as the label shown is statically set in the storefront.
